a music label that represents the best of world-renowned classic jazz vocalists and delivers compact discs and DVDs featuring documentaries, concerts and in-studio performances created under the highest production standards, to fans all over the world.
Finally, doubledave music is here. The brainchild of doubledave principals Dave Pistoni and David Tannenbaum, doubledave Music combines the team's love and knowledge of jazz with their decades of corporate multimedia experience to produce a uniquely special jazz label. Its mission: to provide top jazz artists the opportunity and encouragement to explore their imaginations and give free reign to their musical artistry. Its goal: to produce and distribute worldwide several DVD/CD combinations that feature jazz greats like Mark Murphy, Giacomo Gates and Sheila Jordan. All of this is done within a uniquely innovative context of equitable business between artist and label.
In May 2007, jazz enthusiasts can begin purchasing two doubledave music products.
The first is a DVD/CD package of popular and critically acclaimed jazz vocalist Giacomo Gates, whose talents are captured via live performance clips on high-definition video, along with an outstanding studio recording.
The second is a DVD biography/documentary on legendary jazz singer, Mark Murphy. Highlights include live performances by Murphy and interviews with jazz vocalists Kurt Elling, Jon Hendricks, Cleo Laine and Madeline Eastman; musicians Bill Mays, John Dankworth and Dena DeRose; producers Orrin Keepnews and Dr. Herb Wong; writer James Gavin; and jazz educator Stacey Hoffman. Of course, there is also plenty of Mark’s own unique take on music and his extraordinary career.
Later in 2007, doubledave music will delight jazz fans with a third product: a new DVD/CD package for vocal great Sheila Jordan. The package will feature a live “studio” session in Canada with a string quartet & a piano trio for release in the Fall 2007.
