Shot during Gates' 2006 West Coast tour, the DVD/CD package is a collection of live performance clips shot in San Francisco and features an extensive interview with the “vocalese” master. Coming in April 2008 is a U.S. release of a new DVD biography featuring legendary jazz singer, Mark Murphy. Some of the DVD's highlights include live performances by Murphy and interviews with jazz vocalists Kurt Elling, Jon Hendricks, Cleo Laine and Madeline Eastman; musicians Bill Mays, John Dankworth and Dena DeRose; producers Orrin Keepnews and Dr. Herb Wong; writer James Gavin; and jazz educator Stacey Hoffman – and plenty of Mark’s own unique perspectives on music and his extraordinary life.
